She is part of my “mother” series of paintings where I am exploring the qualities of motherhood through creating human hybrid characters with other animal species who display the same mothering attributes as we do. The hands all glow with love, warmth, protection, and care. I’d like the viewer to be able to imagine themselves being held by or protected by those hands. Imagine reparenting yourself in the way that you would have liked to have been cared for.
